I met Daniel Clowes at the Powell’s in Portland for the book singing of his new amazing title, Wilson, last Sunday.  I was so very excited since he is one of my favorite comic writers/artists.  It was great to see and hear him talk about his work and career over the years.  I realize now that I should probably have recorded it, oh well.  So when I lined up to get him to sign my copy of Wilson I then realized I was rather nervous. And when my time came to go up to his table, I almost had leg lock syndrome (is that what you call it?).  Well, I managed to make it to the small table.  There he sat comfortably with his pens ready in signing action!  Then he asked me about my name, and I literally nervous choked when saying my short name, Holly. At that, my idol,  made a slight chuckle at my very apparent nervousness/awkwardness. Yep.  So then I went on to tell him how I basically live like a hermit and don’t get out much and how I suffer from  social stupidity. Yep.  So I handled that well ( insert sarcastic tone).

Awesome Autograph

Well, May is almost over and I feel like I didn’t get much accomplished during this month.  (sigh)  I have only a few new things up in the shop. You can click on the image link to view in better detail.

Also I will be featured in the Etsy paintings showcase on Sunday (May 23). Least I think that’s right.

So take care everyone and remember to never wear sunscreen, wait…is that right?

P.S. Mister Clowes did tell me how he spends much of his time being a complete shut-in while working and then has to come out and talk to large crowds of people about his work.  So I think if he can do it then I might have a shot at having to put up with people in order to make money. Maybe…
